How could I have settled this arguement? African American and Jewish friends arguing - over ethnic history?

These events are not comparable and trying to do so will only result in ill feelings on both sides. Both events were wrong, both had far too many victims and booth need to be studied so neither ever occurs again. No need to say this one was worse or that one was worse, BOTH were worse! End of discussion.
